SP WINTERRESPONSE

Balanced performance for all winter conditions

  • Balanced performance on wet, snow and ice
  • Outstanding traction on snow
  • Excellent cold weather grip
  • Superior road feedback

KEY BENEFITS

BALANCED PERFORMANCE ON WET, SNOW AND ICE

The SP WinterResponse answers the varying demands of winter driving. An asymmetric pattern design means that dedicated areas perform specific tasks, resulting in a good balance of wet, snow and ice driving properties.

OUTSTANDING TRACTION ON SNOW

Drive with confidence in heavy snow conditions. The tread design features two types of blades that work together to help maintain good traction, braking and cornering on snow.

EXCELLENT COLD WEATHER GRIP

The SP WinterResponse benefits from a high silica tread compound that retains elasticity at low temperatures, increasing traction on ice and snow.

SUPERIOR ROAD FEEDBACK

When driving on slippery winter roads, getting the right feedback from your car is crucial. The SP WinterResponse benefits from Dunlop Touch Technology, a set of advanced features that give you a better feel for the road surface.

TECHNOLOGIES

SPECIFIC BEAD SEAT SYSTEM

Strengthens the link between tyre and rim for a more precise driving experience. Like the grip between your hand and the steering wheel, the Specific Bead Seat System enhances control and conveys outstanding road feedback.Benefits Enhanced road feedback; greater stability and precision.

JOINTLESS BELT (JLB)

A Hybrid Overlay Technology that reduces circumferential deformations at high speeds.Benefits Superior high speed stability; smooth and even wear.

ASYMMETRIC TREAD DESIGN

Asymmetric tread design provides improved handling and aquaplaning resistance. The continuous center rib increases stability and precision. The asymmetric groove arrangement enhances grip on wet and dry surfaces.Benefits Improved performance on straight lines and around corners; increased resistance to aquaplaning.

MULTI RADIUS TREAD (MRT)

MRT designs employ ten different radii and are therefore more precise. This results in highly effective pressure deployment on the road contact patch. The effect is smoother transitions from straight to corner, leading to more precise and progressive reactions.Benefits Significantly better control over the evolution of the footprint in all driving conditions; responsive wet and dry handling; increased cornering control.

MULTI BLADE SYSTEM

Winter driving conditions can vary greatly. From cold and dry to snow or sleet, these conditions make very high demands on a tyre. Dunlop’s multiple blade system meets this challenge head on, with different types of blades for varying winter road conditions.Benefits Consistent performance in various winter conditions.

SILICA-PLUS COMPOUND

A motorsport derived tread compound that delivers high levels of grip, particularly on wet roads and in low temperatures.Benefits Superb braking and acceleration performance; high grip in wet and cold-weather conditions; low wear and tear.

EU Tyre Label Description

Dunlop SP Winter Response 155/70R13 75T
E C 66dB C1

In November 2012 a standard label for vehicle tyres was introduced in the EU. Based on three criteria it gives information about fuel efficiency, wet grip rating and noise levels.

Fuel efficiency  - This label shows you how a tyre performs on fuel consumption - fuel efficiency is graded from A to G (rating D is not used for passenger cars). The difference between an A rating and a G rating could mean a reduction in fuel consumption of up to 7.5%. To put this in real terms, choosing A-rated tyres instead of G-rated tyres could save you more than 6 litres of fuel every 1,000 kilometres (based on an average consumption of 8 litres/100km)

Wet grip - This label shows how well a tyre brakes in wet conditions. Graded from A to G (ratings D and G are not used for passenger cars). In an emergency situation, a few metres can make all the difference. For a passenger car applying full brakes from 50mph, a set of A-rated tyres will brake up to 18 metres shorter than a set of F-rated tyres (braking distances may vary according to driving conditions and other influencing factors)

Noise - This label shows you the noise level in decibels of a tyre. The tyre is categorised in 3 classes illustrated by 3 waves: 1 black wave - Quiet (3dB or more below the European limit), 2 black waves - Moderate (between the European limit and 3dB below) and 3 black waves - Noisy (above the European limit)
